Ballet Jumps – Develops Your Strength and Flexibility
Ballet Jumps occurs at the very end of your ballet classes. It can sometimes be hard to get the last burst of speed to leap at the very end after a long, exhausting ballet class. But that is also the spot to develop strength, and you really need to get the strength into it to really push it. You shouldn’t give up yet! If you’ve never tried ballet jumps before, you are missing out on an amazing opportunity to develop strength, agility, and suppleness that you can use in many other parts of ballet training and even as a sport.
Ballet Jumping is something that ballet dancers do all the time. In fact, when most ballet dancers first start training, they start with a warm-up routine to get their muscles ready for a longer, harder training period ahead. The warm-up routines typically include a lot of slow stretching to get the muscles fully stretched out, and even a little bit of jumping. As ballet dancers progress through their training, they do the same thing, but they also begin doing a lot of fast and explosive training in exercises such as jumps. When ballet dancers start landing on those jumps and start getting the benefits of developing their muscles and their bones and ligaments for more stability, they begin to understand just how much they have improved.
